Senegal is characterised by a process of cultural and architectural hybridisation that involves a combination of the different identity-based and aesthetic components of which it is formed. This blend is giving rise to a new kind of building based on concrete construction and the traditional vernacular earthen architecture, as well as new aesthetic, social, economic and climate-related issues.
