Les burons, petits habitats de montagne, \u00e9taient utilis\u00e9s par les agriculteurs emmenant leurs troupeaux sur les sommets des montagnes, pendant la p\u00e9riode de transhumance. Ces habitats vernaculaires avaient plusieurs usages: h\u00e9berger les buronniers, produire et affiner le fromage Cantal.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Depuis quelques d\u00e9cennies, les burons sont d\u00e9laiss\u00e9s par leurs propri\u00e9taires, et tombent en ruine. Ce patrimoine rural embl\u00e9matique de la r\u00e9gion est \u00e0 sauvegarder, mais la r\u00e9novation \u00e0 l’identique de ces habitats est tr\u00e8s on\u00e9reuse et n’est donc pas viable. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n\n

PROTOCOLE<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Pour pr\u00e9server ces habitats, le projet tend \u00e0 proposer un protocole de r\u00e9habilitation, \u00e9conomiquement viable, o\u00f9 de nouveaux programmes en lien avec le tourisme viendront s’implanter afin d’apporter un financement au projet.

Ce protocole vise \u00e0 cr\u00e9er une strat\u00e9gie d’intervention adaptable et applicable \u00e0 tous ces habitats. De nouvelles structures habitables sont cr\u00e9es afin d’y loger les nouveaux programmes. Ces interventions sont r\u00e9versibles, et ne s’appuient pas sur la structure existante, la ruine est fig\u00e9e dans son \u00e9tat actuel.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir r\u00e9alis\u00e9 le protocole d’intervention, deux applications ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es, \u00e0 partir des \u00e9tats C2 et C4.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

C2_Buron de Grandval<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Le buron de Grandval, r\u00e9habilit\u00e9 en g\u00eete d’\u00e9tapes, va offrir aux randonneurs une pause, le temps d’une nuit, un point d’\u00e9tapes sur leur chemin. L’intervention est localis\u00e9e au centre du buron, sous la ruine, afin de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier du plus de lumi\u00e8re naturelle possible.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

La nouvelle toiture vient signifier sobrement l’implantation du g\u00eete depuis l’ext\u00e9rieur, avec une empreinte minimale sur le paysage environnant.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n\n

Cette nouvelle structure agit comme une bo\u00eete dans la bo\u00eete, bien isol\u00e9e afin de prot\u00e9ger les randonneurs des temp\u00e9ratures fra\u00eeches nocturnes. Un dialogue vient \u00eatre cr\u00e9\u00e9 entre l’enveloppe vernaculaire du buron et la nouvelle structure habitable, les mat\u00e9riaux faisant \u00e9cho \u00e0 ceux utilis\u00e9s pour les habitations cantaliennes traditionnelles.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

C4_Buron d’Encloux<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Le buron d’Encloux, r\u00e9habilit\u00e9 en commerce, propose un espace o\u00f9 les randonneurs pourront s’arr\u00eater pour d\u00e9couvrir et d\u00e9guster les nombreux produits locaux embl\u00e9matiques qu’offrent la r\u00e9gion. L’intervention appara\u00eet comme une greffe, respectueuse de l’existant.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n\n

Cette nouvelle intervention est plus poreuse que la pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 i\u00e7i est de laisser un espace d\u00e9gag\u00e9 afin que les visiteurs puissent contempler le paysage. Le volume h\u00e9bergeant vient se dissocier de la toiture, qui elle agira comme une couverture prot\u00e9geant l’intervention et les randonneurs des intemp\u00e9ries.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Le volume n’ayant pas besoin d’\u00eatre isol\u00e9 comme le pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent, la structure porteuse est laiss\u00e9e apparente depuis l’ext\u00e9rieur, cr\u00e9ant une trame qui va venir rythmer les surfaces du volume.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Le projet fait appara\u00eetre une symbiose intervenant entre deux \u00e9l\u00e9ments: un existant venant \u00eatre prot\u00e9g\u00e9 par une nouvelle intervention, et des structures venant se nourrir de l’existant, de l’histoire du b\u00e2timent et de toutes ses failles sur laquelle elles s’implantent pour exister. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n\n

L’existant et les nouvelles structures viennent se nourrir mutuellement pour proposer de nouvelles mani\u00e8res d’habiter ces burons, cr\u00e9er une intervention coh\u00e9rente dans le territoire et contribuer \u00e0 pr\u00e9server ces “m\u00e9moires d’estives”.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

These stone dwellings were long used as shelters for shepherds during the summer grazing months. True relics of a pastoral tradition, the burons are now abandoned and falling into ruin. The project Memories of summer pastures therefore seeks to preserve and restore these vernacular dwellings by proposing a protocol of work that can be adapted to all burons and their levels of deterioration. Two tourism-related programmes will be implemented to bring these buildings back to life: a retail element offering tastings of local produce, and a g\u00eete d\u2019\u00e9tapes or rest house, offering a break for the region\u2019s many walkers and hikers.
