Malgr\u00e9 le fait que les ruines du couvent de Penafirme aient \u00e9t\u00e9 class\u00e9es par le gouvernement portugais comme \u00e9tant un b\u00e2timent d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat public, il y a maintenant plus de trente ans, les locaux et la municipalit\u00e9 ne leurs apportent tr\u00e8s peu, si ce n’est aucun int\u00e9r\u00eat. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Ces architectures l\u00e9g\u00e8res ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pens\u00e9es pour avoir un faible impact sur le site et sur l\u2019environnement. Leur syst\u00e8me constructif sans fondation lourde les rendent compl\u00e8tement r\u00e9versibles et l’usage de toile de lin conf\u00e8re une forme de souplesse et de r\u00e9versibilit\u00e9 au projet.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

La journ\u00e9e commence aux premi\u00e8res lueurs du jour, dans l\u2019aile de nuit orient\u00e9e d\u2019est en ouest. On se l\u00e8ve et on se couche suivant la course du soleil.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

On profite de la fra\u00eecheur du matin pour aller chercher de l\u2019eau au centre du cloitre. Les voiles soulev\u00e9s par la l\u00e9g\u00e8re brise donnent \u00e0 voir les \u00e9l\u00e9ments naturels et cr\u00e9ent une int\u00e9riorit\u00e9 \u00e0 ce lieu contemplatif, ouvert sur le ciel. Il s’y d\u00e9roule aussi des exercices en groupe de m\u00e9ditation et des activit\u00e9s de pleine consc<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Vient l\u2019heure du d\u00e9jeuner, qui se d\u00e9roule dans l\u2019aile orient\u00e9e sud. Cet espace est \u00e0 la fois un lieu de vie, de cuisine et de repas. On mange sur la grande table c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te. Le repas n\u2019est plus un moment d\u2019\u00e9change et de mondanit\u00e9 mais un temps silencieux, ou l\u2019on se concentre sur le paysage et les go\u00fbts de son plat. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Le mirador et le belv\u00e9d\u00e8re s\u2019int\u00e8grent discr\u00e8tement au c\u0153ur de l\u2019ancienne nef du couvent et offrent des points de vue jusqu\u2019ici inaccessibles. On y prend le temps d\u2019observer et d\u2019admirer le paysage, comme on vient ici prend le temps de faire l\u2019\u00e9tat des lieux sur son propre pass\u00e9. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Le soir tombant, les retraitants regagnent leur chambre. C\u2019est un lieu de calme et d\u2019intimit\u00e9 o\u00f9 se retrouver seul. On y \u00e9coute les sons de la nature, et on accepte d\u2019entendre la vie des autres autour. Cet int\u00e9rieur peu bavard, r\u00e9duit au minimum, invite \u00e0 vivre simplement et avec peu.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

\u00c0 la fin de chaque s\u00e9jour de retraite, le cloitre illumin\u00e9 par des centaines de bougies en son centre devient un lieu o\u00f9 l\u2019on f\u00eate la reprise de parole. Des repr\u00e9sentations artistiques sont programm\u00e9es pour r\u00e9unir les retraitants et les habitants des communes voisines autour du th\u00e8me du silence et de l\u2019\u00e9vasion.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n
