This dissertation raises the question of the link between image and language and explores its evolution.Starting from the observation that image and language have always been two interconnected and complementary entities in their use for conveying the world, this reflection challenges this postulate today. We have seen how the emergence of technology and the digital world has considerably altered our relationships with image, both in our way of producing them and of seeing them. Consequently, what becomes of this complementarity between image and language with these new forms of images? How do we use them to express ourselves today?
