My dissertation draws on my personal experience in the megacity of Hong Kong following a school exchange with the Hong Kong Design Institute.Exploring the city, I was able to experience countless sensations through a multitude of spaces that defied the limits of my body, and I become aware of its place in the design of built spaces.I therefore asked myself: “To what extent is studying the megacity of Hong Kong relevant in considering the human scale in architectural practices?” My dissertation follows my exploration through the Hong Kong area, across different built levels, from the urban space to interior architecture.
