Currently under threat from globalisation, environmental factors and even a lack of information, cultural diversity, which is nevertheless defined as a “source of exchange, innovation and creativity” by UNESCO, is one of the elements on which the wealth of our world is built, and something we should try to preserve by all means possible. Might architecture and design be a way to succeed in this? This dissertation draws on theoretical elements, concrete data and the study of four architect’s projects to establish a process to follow in order to create a form of architecture or design that preserves cultural diversity.
