For my dissertation subject, I focus on how objects are passed down within a family context.This subject led me to explore the showcasing of the object, the moment it is gifted and the personification of objects by users and through the passing of time.The issue of our emotional connection to and perception of objects changes from generation to generation, depending on the individual, the family unit and its history.I look at the space in which objects are displayed and showcased at home, as well as their materiality.I also consider the different aspects that relate to the notion of creation and transmission around the creator and the role of the object.
