In my project for the Léopold Bellan swimming pool, one façade of the original building has been opened up to create a large outdoor pool. This indoor-outdoor extension and the addition of colour inside the building create a balance to this restoration, between old and new. A dominant colour, used throughout the building, creates the visual identity for the project. This colour works together with the other colours to define different spaces, like a form of signage. I therefore came up with a project that is open to the outdoors, bright and colourful, to showcase the old while bringing the restoration to life at this venue.
