The Léopold Bellan Baths well-being centre offers a personal and intimate holistic experience that is combined with the practice of swimming. The key concern of the project was to accommodate what already existed and to tread carefully forward so as not to neglect the past, present or future. The spatial intervention is treated as a second internal envelope, presented as a radical simplification of the existing architectural concept, respecting the characteristics of the site and helping to improve the connection between the different spaces. Spatial asceticism, symmetry and light are some of the concepts that define the project and that have enabled multiple atmospheres to be created coherently, yet within a single environment.
