Situated at the heart of the village of Deià on the island of Mallorca, Can Vallès is above all a place for social gathering. This former private property, built in the early 20th century and abandoned for years, is opening to the public and being converted into a major hub for various activities. This programme, split over four levels, will allow for the creation of a restaurant, a small market, and exhibition and administrative areas. The project proposes an architectural treatment that modifies all volumes in order to showcase certain existing elements of the building and create better flow between the different levels, particularly between the interior and exterior spaces. This space will become the new village square, where residents and travellers will cohabit.
