From when they are very young, children develop an awareness of the world around them. In the public space, they are constantly confronted with the world. Playgrounds are essential to a child’s development. Montsouris park is home to 3 playgrounds that have remained unchanged for fifteen years. This is the setting for my degree project, focusing on the creation of 3 playgrounds that meet children’s needs and highlight all the park has to offer. Each playground is based on a theme linked to the history of Montsouris park. The 3 themes are: the weather station, the League for the Protection of Birds, the Palais du Bardo. Surprising and stimulating to the senses, Moque-Souris is revealed as a place for learning for children aged 3 to 10.
