Trends come and go so quickly. Our desire to buy are ever-changing. Is it really a sustainable response to the problems of overconsumption to manufacture objects with a lifespan of around ten years? What if we create fleeting, rather than sustainable, objects? This premise is the basis of my research into straw and hay, raw materials that are local and very abundant in France, to create biodegradable objects with "programmed obsolescence". With the desire to use a material from accessible and little-transformed resources, Impermanents proposes an example application for our everyday objects. It leads us to reconsider them, to know that they are temporary as we see them deteriorate.
