Trouville-sur-Mer, a small town on the coast of the Channel in Normandy, is a haven of peace two hours from Paris. It is a modest fishing port teeming with marine life. Originally, there was a pier and promenade on the seawall, with a restaurant, but this was destroyed by the Germans during the war.My project brings Trouville’s pier/promenade back to life. Newly focused on retail and entertainment functions, it will showcase local fishing as well as being an attraction in its own right. This annexe of the fishmonger’s shop in town offers a promenade for tourists and locals, a fish market and a place to eat overlooking the sea, creating a place of leisure, sharing and discovery that is more closely connected to its surroundings.
