The project is a multidisciplinary residence for French artists in Senegal, established by the Institut français in Dakar. It will be the second villa on the African continent after Villa Ndar in Saint-Louis. Dakar and Saint-Louis are two cities home to a wealth of new intercultural and interdisciplinary activity. This residence aims to explore production methods, through interactions between Africa and France, bringing together five major areas of practice: textile design, plant-based design, industrial and automotive design, music and electronics. This residence will be situated in the Berthe Maubert school, a former FWA court that was recently abandoned. This conversion project will have a central focus on interior/exterior connections.
